Extras, Odds & EndsI used to be a splitter, with separate pages for every subtopic. Now I'm trying to be a grouper, collecting all the miscellaneous this-and-that on this page.

KlankBank (Reaktor 3) You've got two banks. They go klank. This is an expansion of my GamelaLiner v1 ensemble, which was in turn an expansion of rachmiel's DrumLiner ensemble, and now it's something else. Credit where credit is due: the filters are ripped from Martin Brinkmann's xy-fx1, the Reverbon & atonal tv are from Didier Leboz's ensembles, and some of the other pieces are variants of macros made by rachmiel. Thanks to all of them for their original work.
June 23, 2005: This is in endless beta. It has not been materially revised since mid 2003, but since one of the R4 upgrades broke it, I've replaced it with a working version for R5. The Chaotic Logic Map macro implements several recursive chaotic/complex/strange attractor-type mapping algorithms. This ensemble demonstrates some of the ways you could map the values generated by these algorithms (to a varied degree of success..) It allows to you experiment with chaotic functions and to generate bounded but unpredicable sets of values. These values can be used for generating "sequences" or modulating parameters, among other things. This is a revised beta/demonstration that shows examples of using the values to control the newscool synth, the graincloud and the resynth module, as well as several kinds of FX, and to modulate the clock speed of the playback patterns faster and slower. It's not entirely documented, but does let show several potential applications for the CLMap. The CLMap appears in a friendlier form (the "Variator") in KlankBank ensembles.
Resynth Bouncer 4-Way (Reaktor 3) 4 resynth sample players, each controlled by bouncers. A 4-way mix and fx sends (verb and delay) are also controlled by bouncers. Good for live performance, as you can direct it, but also leave it unattended while you address other things. The R5 version fixes a dumb triggering error.
Grain Bouncer 2-way (Reaktor 3) 2 grain cloud sample players, each controlled by bouncers. Crossfade mix and verb send are also controlled by bouncers.
Stereo pair of grain delays, controlled by bouncers. A bouncer controlled ring modulator, and bouncer controlled mixer (between wet, dry, ring modulated, and ring oscillator) rounds out the ensemble. |
